Cold water therapies and other cures for insomnia

Today I would like to share with you four ways to help you with sleeping problems that you may not have tried. The first is to do with eating meat. You may think that all meats are created equal however if you are eating mainly muscle meat you may be ingesting stress hormones. In order for your meat to help you with sleep you should try eating more liver (organic is best so that you avoid toxic overload that the animal may have been exposed to), bone broths and other organ meats. Another way to do this is to have a teaspoon of gelatine in a glass of warm chamomile a couple of hours before bed.

My second tip for today is about earthing. You can either by an earthing mat or spend at least thirty minutes barefoot outside on dirt, grass or rocks to feel the benefits of the negative electrons of the earth. By sleeping on a grounding mat you may find that by reducing your exposure to EMFs  (electro magnetic fields) will improve your sleep quality.

My third tip is about cold water therapy. If you are desperate for a solution and willing to try almost anything then this could be for you. Try immersing yourself in a very cold bath or at the very least dunking your head in a bucket of very cold water a few times to reduce your stress levels. Tim Ferriss (author of the 4 hour work week) suggests that even a cold ice pack on the front or the back of the neck can be helpful for improving sleep and weight loss.

And finally now that you may be finding yourself having great sleep you may find that you need something to wake yourself up. My final tip is that instead of being woken up with a jolting buzzing alarm clock why not trade that in for a sunlight alarm clock that will wake you up much more gently.

That’s it from me for today, I’d love to hear how you go if you try any of the above suggestions.
